Jeri Guthrie Corn, charge of affairs of the US Embassy in Bucharest, Major General Ion Aurel Stanciu, Ph. D, chief of the Romanian Air Force Staff and Brigade General Richard Johnston from USAFE participated today, April 30 in the Day of Distinguished Visitors of "STRIKE LANCE 2009" exercise at the 71st Campia Turzii Air Base.
The Romanian-American "STRIKE LANCE 2009" exercise was performed between April 21 and 30, at the 71st "General Emanoil Ionescu" Air Base from Campia Turzii with the participation of more than 250 US militaries from the 494 USAFE with 12 F 15E and the adequate logistic support and more than 200 Romanian militaries with 6 MiG 21 LanceR from the 71st Air Base.
The exercise's main goal is to improve the training and the carry out of the specific air operations.
