Open gates at Tepes Castle

The Open gates at Tepes Castle, the headquarters of the National Office for Heroes Memory (ONCE) from Carol I Park will organize Sunday, May 17, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. A thematic exhibition, an exhibition of rare books and documents on the heroes' memory, a parade of old uniforms and tombola are few of the events of the day.
The ONCE representatives invite everybody to pay homage to the homeland heroes during the 86th anniversary of the Unknown Soldier re-interment. The Monument of the Unknown Soldier is the place of pilgrimage to honor those who were killed in action in the wars.
Tepes Castle was built in 1906 by the architects St. Burcus and V. Stephanescu and is an important piece of architecture that in small size remembers Cetatea Poenari (Poenari Fortress) built by Vlad Tepes at Cheia Argesului on Plaiul Lovistei.
