International Reunion on Security Issues

The Romanian Institute for Defence Policy and Military History and the Military History Institute from Potsdam (Germany) organizes the 9th Conference on the Study of Conflicts of the Working Group within the Partnership for Peace Consortium of the Defence Academies and the Institute for Security Studies, hosted by the National Military Club, from May 26 to 28.

The International Conference, End of Empires. Challenges to Security and Statehood in Flux, will be attended by researchers and experts from 17 countries (Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, the Russian Federation, Serb Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, the United States of America and Hungary.

The topics to be discussed during the conference will cover the end of empires, the new states on the political world map, the end of wars, military reform, national identity and security interests, developments in military reforms, resistance movements, military interventions and peace operations, characteristics and dimensions of international security in the aftermath of the Cold War.
