SCORPIONII ROSII AT THE END OF THEIR MAIN MISSION IN IRAQ

The troops of the 26th Infantry Neagoe Basarab Battalion finished the last training module of Iraqi troops on Saturday, May 23. A ceremony was organized to celebrate this at the military base in Dhi Qar, of the same province.
The event was attended by the two commanders Romanian LTC Gabriel Toma and Iraqi LTC Zafer Habeeb, commander of the 10th Special Forces Battalion, as well as American troops. The best trainers and trainees were awarded diplomas for their three-month activity.
Training Iraqi troops was the main mission of the Infantry men of Craiova, who have trained about 200 troops since their arrival in the theater of operations in Iraq, preparing them for their future missions. The 10th Battalion will conduct operations in the Dhi Qar, Al Muthanna and Maysan Provinces in the south if Iraq, in an area where the Romanian troops are deployed.
