The Romanian Armed Forces celebrate the Military Press Day, every year on July 23. The first Romanian publication, "Observatorul militar" (Military Observer) was published 150 years ago, on July 23, 1859. Traditionally, on this day we pay homage to all the generations of journalists in uniform who assumed the mission to be the Army's voice along the years.
A ceremony will be occasioned in the Marble Hall of the National Military Club on Tuesday, July 22, at 2 p.m.; during the ceremony they could watch the movie "Observatorul militar-150 de ani" (Military Observer-150 years), participate in the presentation of the work "150 de ani de presa militara" (150 years of Military Press), and Diplomas of Excellency will be granted to military and civilian personalities, to military journalists in activity and reserve with special contribution in the increase of prestige of the military press.
