The Ministry of National Defense will organize Wednesday, July 29, at 6 p.m. in Piata Arcului de Triumf in Bucharest a military ceremony occasioned by the end of the Romanian Armed Forces mission in Iraq.
The militaries that participated in Iraq will parade under the Arch of Triumph while the Romanian Air Force aircrafts will fly over Piata.
The Combat Flags of the military units that participated in Iraqi Freedom operation and the militaries that distinguished in missions will be decorated.
More then 8,400 Romanian militaries who served the national flag even with their lives in the Iraqi theater of operations have confronted with a hostile and even dangerous environment.
16 parade blocks will parade under the Arch of Triumph, representing the Infantry Battalions from Iraq and the militaries that participated in mission within the Engineering Detachments, Military Medicine Detachments, the NBC and Chemical Protection Detachments, Military Police Detachments, intelligence Detachments, the UN Security Detachments.
The Ministry of National Defense is inviting the population from Bucharest to take part in this event stressing on the effort made by Romanian Armed Forces, by Romania to build stabilization and democracy in Iraq.
