The militaries from Focsani garrison commemorate every year on August 6, the Marasesti Battle that occurred between August 6 and 19, 1917 during the First World War.
On this occasion, in Soveja, Marasti, Tisita and Marasesti, on August 6, 2009 the militaries from Focsani garrison commanded by the Brigade General Florinel Damian, commander of the 8th Joint Artillery Brigade in cooperation with the local authorities have organized and developed the military and religious ceremonies, the lay of wreaths and the parade of the Guard of Honor. In Marasesti, 92 years ago, have occurred the heaviest battles with 27410 casualties for the Romanian Army.
In the commemoration ceremony the participants were the representatives of civilian, military and religious institutions, war veterans, militaries in reserve and retreat.
