General Carter Ham, USAREUR General Commander, in visit in Romania

Chief of General Staff, Admiral Gheorghe Marin, Ph. D. met General Carter Ham, the USAREUR General Commander, on Monday, August 24, 2009.
Admiral Marin appreciated the cooperation between the Romanian and the US militaries not only in common exercises but in the theaters of operations, too. General Ham made his appreciations on the interoperability among the militaries from the two armies, too.
The two military leaders appreciated that the level of training in common means the increase of complexity of exercises and trainings to be held and being a benefit for the level of interoperability of troops.
Monday, General Ham met State Secretary for Parliament Liaison, Public Information and Welfare of Personnel, Dan Tataru. The two officials had talks on the bilateral military and defense cooperation and on "Joint Task Force East Rotation 09" exercise, held in our country. State Secretary presented to General Ham the important aspects about the Department he is leading, too.
In the second part of the day, USAREUR General Commander met Major General Dan Ghica Radu, chief of the Land Forces Staff and received a short presentation on the Romanian Land Forces role, place, missions and perspectives, and the action capability and international engagement they are integrated in.
"The US militaries are confident when they are acting together with the Romanians in the theaters of operations or in common exercises" appreciated the U.S. General.
The two officials reiterated the idea to continue the common training in facilities in Dobrogea and in Hohenfelds, too. They also agreed it is necessary to increase the complexity of "Joint Task Force East Rotation 09" exercise.
Major General Dan Ghica Radu offered the "Romanian Land Forces Emblem of Honor" to his distinguished guest.
