Romanian-Portuguese military talks

Chief of General Staff, Admiral Gheorghe Marin, Ph.D. met on August 24, General Luis Vasco Valenca Pinto, chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Portugal in official visit in Romania.
The two military leaders approached the bilateral military cooperation issues. Admiral Marin presented to the Portuguese General the Romanian Armed Forces expertise in their transformation and modernizations, having in view our country's membership of NATO and the EU, and the Romanian participation in international operations and missions.
General Valenca Pinto and the State Secretary for Parliament Liaison, Public Information and Welfare, Dan Tataru had met on Monday, too, to discuss among others, about the cooperation between the two armed forces and the Black Sea problems. State Secretary presented to the chief of the Portuguese delegates the structure, the organization and the activity of the Department he is leading on.
The Portuguese guest appreciated the Romanian Armed Forces contribution in the international missions and showed the interest in selection, training and management of the career for the professional militaries.
The delegates will visit the Land Forces Staff and will lay a wreath at the Monument of the Unknown Soldier.
