The ceremony of "Mircea" school ship's return from the annual training march will occur on Tuesday, August 25, starting 11 a.m. in Constanta military port.
The ceremony will have a double significance, i.e. the arrival of the ship and the celebration of 70 years since the school ship entered in the Romanian Navy service.
The ship was in an international march since April 12, 2009, for 12000 nautical miles and stops in 8 ports in the Aegean Sea, Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. The ship, in its 36th international march and the 3rd cross of the Atlantic Ocean, participated in "Tall Ships Atlantic Challenge 2009" and won the second place A class and the fourth place in the general top.
The crew of 190 persons is structured thus: 65 are students of "Mircea cel Batran" Navy Academy and 38 are students of "Amiral Ion Murgescu" Military School of NCOs.
