"Contraamiral Horia Macellariu" corvette will arrive on Thursday, August 27, at 9 a.m. in Mangalia military port from its participation in the BLACKSEAFOR activation, this month. The participants in the activation were: the Romanian ship, the TCG BARBAROS (Turkey), the GSG SOKHUMI (Georgia), the command ship SLAVUTICH (Ukraine), the landing ship RFS TSEZAR KUNIKOV (Russian Federation) and the corvette SMELI (Bulgaria). During the mission, the Romanian corvette performed in the Black Sea areas, the counter act of mines, search and rescue on the sea, humanitarian assistance and environment protection. The activation also comprised the visits in Varna (Bulgaria), Sevastopol (Ukraine), Novorossiysk (Russian Federation) ports to strengthen the trust and to increase the cooperation between the participating states. During the stops in the above mentioned ports, they have had demonstrative exercises, meeting with military and civilian officials, press conferences social activity and visits on board.
"Contraamiral Horia Macellariu" corvette is commanded by Captain Commander Liviu Motoc and it is manned of 94 militaries.
