Chief of General Staff, Admiral Gheorghe Marin, Ph.D. met Thursday, September 3, the Chief of General Staff of Defense from the Republic of Italy, General Vincenzo Camporini in official visit in Romania.
The two officials had talks on the Romanian expertise in the armed forces' modernization and transformation as a NATO and the EU member state, the Romanian Armed Forces participation in international operations and missions, the state of security in the Western Balkans and the Black Sea region and the bilateral military cooperation.
General Vincenzo Camporini met the State Secretary for the Parliament Liaison, Public Information and Welfare, Dan Tataru to have talks on the common values of the North Atlantic Alliance and the transformations the two armed forces have suffered recently. The two officials also approached the Romanian – Italian cooperation in military education area, and State Secretary Tataru presented the structure, organization and activity of the Department he is leading on.
The Italian delegation will lay a wreath at the Monument of the Unknown Soldier, in Bucharest and will visit some representative military units in Brasov and Cluj.
