Two militaries from a forward base, 60 km North-East from Qalat, Afghanistan, were wounded last night in an insurgent attack with launchers and infantry portable armament.
In this attack, NCOs Constantin Buturuga and Florin Drehluta suffered injuries on their legs.
The militaries received the medical cared in Qalat military base and then they were transported by medical evacuation helicopter to Kandahar for investigations and special treatment. The preliminary data suggest their good condition of health.
The wounded militaries are part of the 280th Maneuver Battalion that started the mission in Afghanistan in July this year. Now, the Romanian Armed Forces deploy in Afghanistan about 1050 militaries, mainly in Zabul province.
