Second Lieutenant post mortem Ioan Grosaru was commemorated in Paiseni

Second Lieutenant post mortem Ioan Grosaru, killed in action two years ago in Iraq, was commemorated Saturday, September 19, in Paiseni village, Cornul Luncii commune Suceava County.
A group of priests headed by Nicolae Bradatan, vicar of Archiepiscopate of Suceava and Radauti had a religious ceremony, blessed the hero's cross and grave and had a ceremony at the Monument of the First and the Second World War Heroes in Paiseni graveyard.
In the ceremony the participants were the hero's relatives, the MoND representatives, NCO Marius Iovi, wounded in the attack from September 12, 2007 and his brothers in arms from the 32nd Infantry Battalion 'Mircea'.
Lieutenant Colonel Cristain Dinulica, commander of the 32nd Infantry Battalion 'Mircea' presented the hero's life at home and in the theater of operations and read a letter that the Minister of National Defense, Mihai Stanisoara addressed to his family.
'In that cruel day of September 21, 2007 Ioan acted with abnegation, dignity and courage against the assumed danger, and was killed in action in his country's name and joined to soon the Romanian Armed Forces from Heaven. We will always pay him our respect and assure him that his supreme sacrifice always will be in our memory as a memorable example of the Romanian soldiers' fulfillment of duty Together with the Romanian Armed Forces and the 8,000 soldiers that have represented Romania in the mission in Iraq through their facts and sacrifices, we are deeply thankful and I assure I will always pry God for our hero's peace, Second Lieutenant Ioan Grosaru' wrote the Minister of National Defense in his letter.


Second Lieutenant post mortem Ioan Grosaru died and other five soldiers were wounded on September 21, 2007 in a patrol mission. The soldier helped to the evacuation of his brothers in arms from the armored vehicle in flames by finally he died when the ammunition exploded.
