State Secretary of Defense Policy and Planning, Viorel Oancea, will participate between September 28 and 29 in the Informal Meeting of the EU Defense Ministers, in Goteborg, Sweden, holding the Presidency of the EU Council.
On the two days of debates the talks will be focused on the process of increase of military and civilian capacity (especially the maritime surveillance), the use of the EU Combat Tactical Groups in crisis management operations, the support of reconfiguration of ALTHEA operation in Bosnia-Herzegovina and the effort to continue the maritime operation of counterattacking the piracy in the area of the Somalian coasts.
The Reunion will approach the development of the Defense Equipment European Market by transparency and harmonization of rules of acquisition to have a competitive, open and equitable environment.
The effort of the international community and the European Union, to stabilize the environment of security in Afghanistan and the EU enlarge commitment in this region is another issue to be tackled during the Reunion.
