Romanian soldiers were wounded in Afghanistan

Four soldiers from the 280th Maneuver Battalion, deployed in Afghanistan, were wounded today, at about 7 p.m. Romanian time, in an attack with improvised explosive device.
The soldiers were in patrol mission in four HUMVEE vehicles, in Zabul province, on Kandahar - Kabul A1 highway. At about 70 km north-east of Qalat, a vehicle passed over an improvised explosive device.
Warrant Officer Danut Buzatu, Corporal Ionut Bogdan Ciubotaru and NCOs Ionut Dumbrava and Emanuel Cornel Berdei were wounded on the upper part of their bodies and the legs. The first medical data confirm they are in a stable state.
The first medical aid was granted to them and then they were transported by helicopter to Lagman base hospital.
The leaders of the Ministry of National Defense carefully over-watch their state of health, and sympathize with their families.
The 280th Maneuver Battalion has begun the missions in Afghanistan in July. Now, the Romanian Army deploys about 1050 soldiers in Afghanistan, mainly in Zabul province.
