Romanian-Swedish Talks

General Sverker GORANSON, Commander-in-chief of the Swedish Armed Forces undertakes an official visit in Romania following the invitation of Romanian Chief of Staff, Admiral Gheorghe MARIN, from October 12 to 14.

During the official talks that took place on Monday, October 12, the two officials approached topics such as identifying ways to diversify bilateral military cooperation, the latest developments in the security environment of the Black Sea and West Balkans region, as well as NATO and EU topics of mutual interest.

Admiral Marin talked of the experience acquired during the modernization and, transformation process of the Romanian Armed Forces as NATO and EU member as well as the context of the Romanian participation international missions and operations.

The program of the Swedish delegation included wrath-laying at the Monument of the Unknown Soldier, visits at the National Defence University 'Carol I', the Air Force Academy 'Henri Coanda' and the 71st Air Base in Campia Turzii, as well as attending a training exercise of the 21st Mountain Troops Battalion in Predeal.
