The Reunion of the Executive Committee for the implement of the Agreement between Romania and the United States of America on the US forces stationed on the Romanian territory had occurred on October 20, at the National Military Club Palace. According to the Agreement, Romania allows the US forces to use the facilities according to Law 268/2006, Annex A, sometimes presented by the foreign and the Romanian media as the US military bases and not as the Romanian facilities set at the US forces disposal. The USEUCOM representatives, the USAREUR representatives, the USAFE representatives and the US Embassy officials participated alongside the Romanian representatives of the Ministry of National Defense, and the representatives of the Special Problems State Central Office. The works have been headed by the adviser of the MoND State Secretary for the Department of Defense Policy and Planning, Mr. Constantin Moisa and by Colonel Donald Gabel, chief of Black Sea-Eurasia Division/Strategies, Policies and Evaluations Directorate, USEUCOM. The Romanian and the US representatives have approached the implement of the Access Agreement between Romania and the United States, the training plan for 2010, the stage of the works of infrastructure and modernization of facilities, the humanitarian assistance projects and the juridical and legal aspects and the preparations for the reunion of the Romanian-American Committee to be held in November this year.
