The Center for Coordinating and Monitoring the Implementation of the Access Agreement (CCMIA) of the Department for Defence Policy and Planning of the Ministry of National Defence organized the ordinary meting of the Inter-ministerial Committee on Thursday, December 10. The Committee was established based on Government Decision, HG 565/2007, (and an additional HG 456/2008) in order to enforce the provisions of Law 268 of June 29, 2006 on the Agreement of Romania and the United States of America concerning the tasks of US Troops stationed on Romanian territory (Access Agreement).

The meeting was chaired by State Secretary and chief of the Department for Defence Policy and Planning, Mr. Viorel Oancea, in his capacity as Chairman of the Inter-ministerial Committee. The reunion was attended by state secretaries and other representatives of government institutions with responsibilities in the implementation of the Access Agreement.

The conclusions of the Meeting of the Romanian-American Committee held in Bucharest from November 9 to 10 have been brought to the attention of those present.

The representatives of ministries and institutions participating in the meeting presented, for their respective field of activity, the extent to which the commitments deriving from the Access Agreement have been accomplished and solutions for the irregularities that came up during the implementation process.
