The Chinese Language Phonic Laboratory, donated by the Chinese Armed Forces, was inaugurated at "Carol I" National Defence University in the presence of General Ma Xiaotian, deputy chief of General Staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army of the People's Republic of China, Lieutenant General Stefan Oprea, deputy chief of Romanian General Staff, generals and officers from the two armies' central structures on Tuesday, February 2.
The Chinese delegation had the opportunity to learn how the Romanian military education system is organized, the activity of "Carol I" National Defence University, the educational curricula, the selection criteria for officers, admittance, accreditation and end of studies, and the cooperation with other institutions of the kind.The first series of Chinese language courses will start on March 1, at the National Defence University, at first for military and civilian personnel from the institutions with responsibilities in security and national defense area. The course of Chinese language completes the courses of foreign languages, such as: English, French, German, Arabian, Turkish, Russian, Greek and Romanian for foreign officers.
At present, 12 officers from five states, among them being the students among which China, attend the courses at the National Defence University.
