The Minister of National Defence, Gabriel Oprea, will meet Mr. Traian Orban, Chairman of the Association Memorialul Revolutiei 16-22 decembrie 1989 Timisoara [Memorial of the 16-22 December 1989 Revolution in Timisoara] at the ministry HQ on Friday, May7. After the meeting they will travel to Popesti-Leordeni, Ilfov County, where a church will be erected in memory of the victims of the December 1989 Revolution.

At the end of March, the Association Memorialul Revolutiei 16-22 decembrie 1989 Timisoara invited Mr. Oprea to Timisoara where he visited the Revolution Memorial. The defence minister promised the revolutionaries he will endorse the project of building a church in Popesti-Leordeni, where the ashes of the December 1989 Revolution victims was scattered.

Representatives of the local public administration and members of parliament from Ilfov County will be present at the activity. Defence Minister Gabriel Oprea and Chairman Traian Orban will make press statements.
