PRESS INFORMATION

The Chiefs of Defence of the Balkan states are meeting for their 4th Conference organized at Poiana Brasov, on June 10.

In agreement with the established Terms of Reference and following the three previous conferences organized at Salonika, Greece (2007), Antalya Turkey (2008) and Belgrade, Serbia (2009), this year’s event aims at continuing the development of bilateral military relations, with a view to maintaining and promoting a more secure environment in the Balkans.

The event will be attended by the CHoDs of the nine founding states (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Montenegro, Serbia, FYROM, Turkey and Romania) - as guests, the Chairman of the EU Defence Committee, Gen. Hakan SYREN, the Vice-Presidentof NATO Defence Committee, Lt. Gen. Walter GASKIN and the Commander of the Joint Allied Command, Naples, Admiral Mark FITZGERALD. Representatives from Croatia and Serbia will attend as observers.
