The Department for Defence Policy and Planning organized, through the Center for Coordination and Implementation of the Access Agreement, the reunion of the Mixed Committee for the implementation of the Agreement between Romania and the USA on the activities of US forces stationed on Romanian territory, also known as the Access Agreement. The reunion took place at the Palace of the National Military Club, on June 14, 2010.

The Romanian delegation headed by the State Secretary for Defence Policy and Planning consisted of experts and guests of the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Public Finances. The US delegation, headed by Maj. Gen. Paul G. Schafer, Director, Plans and Policy, U.S. European Command, consisted of military and civil experts of USAREUR and USAFE, of the US Embassy to Bucharest.

During the reunion, the Romanian and US officials reviewed the activities of the November 2009 reunion and the bilateral training. For this year`s exercises, the American partner invited troops from FYROM, Ukraine and Serbia.

The parties discussed ways of implementing the provisions of the Access Agreement, the use of some land in the larger maneuver area in Dobrogea, of some facilities of temporary use as well as the plan for next year`s bilateral exercises.
