The members of the military radio editorial office, the Media Group of the Ministry of National Defence, celebrate on Wednesday June 16, starting 12.00 hrs, 70 years of military radio activity. The event is hosted by the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Society.

Representatives from the Ministry of National Defence, the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Society, the Journalists Association, military radio producers and contributors that worked with the office along the years were all invited to the event.

A CD, 'In memoriam' and a DVD '70 de ani de radiofonie militara' [70 years of military radio activity] were launched on this occasion, diplomas were handed over on behalf of the Ministry of National Defence, the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Society, the Journalists Association.

On June 16, 1940 the first radio show, 'Ora ostasului' [The soldier`s hour], was broadcast on the national radio station.
