At present, over 50 troops of the defence ministry assist the flood stricken population in Botosani and Neamt counties.

Troops of the 335th Alexandru cel Bun Artillery Battalion evacuated 15 families and their goods in the town of Dorohoi, Botosani County and continue to work at unblocking access routes.

Troops of the 634th Petrodava Infantry Battalion in Piatra Neamt work in the area of the town of Gadinti, near Roman Municipality, to brace the dam along Siret River. Two trucks of the 43rd Transport Battalion in Roman evacuate flood stricken population from the towns of Adjudeni and Rachiteni, Neamt County.

During the past 24 hours, another 100 troops of the defence ministry intervened at the request of local authorities, to save flood stricken population in Botosani and Galati counties and to contain their effects in the respective regions.

Specialized structures of the General Staff in the defence ministry are permanently monitoring the situation in the country in order to be able to intervene at the request of
local authorities, in accordance with the cooperation plans established for emergency situations.
