The troops of the 30th Mihai Viteazul Guard Regiment organize ceremonies in celebration of 150 of existence, on Thursday, July 1.

The activities will start with a military ceremony organized in Carol Park, at the Tomb of the Unknown Hero, between 10.00 and 11.00 hrs. From 18.30 to 20.20, the Festival of Military Music bands of Bucharest Garrison will begin in the same location.

At the regiment headquarters, 5-7 Vasile Milea Blvd., from 12.00 to 14.00 the Day of Open Gates is organized for the public that will have the opportunity to see military exercises and ceremonies that characterize the activity of this elite unit.

From 21.30 to 22.30, the troops of the 30th Guard Regiment will display a retreat with torches on the following route: the Palace of the National Military Club - Regina Elisabeta Blvd.- Operei Square - Leu Square- Iuliu Maniu Blvd.- regiment headquarters.

150 years since the establishment of the 1st Riflemen Battalion are celebrated on July 1, 2010. The battalion was established based on Decree 63 of the Alexandru Ioan Cuza ruler of the time. The combat traditions of the battalion were taken over by the 30th Mihai Viteazul Guard Regiment.

Historically, guard units of this type were meant as combat units and then as protocol units.

The 30th Mihai Viteazul Guard Regiment is an elite military training establishment, both physically and psychologically. The military detachments that undergo training in this elite unit are able to face the demands of any guard, protection mission of special objectives or military ceremony.
