Defence minister Gabriel Oprea is going to be at Dornesti, Suceava County, on Monday, July 5. There, a 125-troop detachment of the 72nd Engineer Battalion within the 10th Engineer Brigade began assembling the pontoon bridge over Suceava River, planned to be ready on Thursday, July 8.

A succor convoy from the Joint Logistic Command came to the same location in the morning and was immediately made available for the people in distress. The succor from the defence ministry consists in 200 complete sets of clothing (trousers, shirts, jackets, pajamas, and pullovers), 100 beds, 500 sets of bed sheets, tent canvas, backpacks, tin plates, water tanks and 1000 towels.

At present, the over 600 defence troops work with 65 vehicles in different towns in Galati, Suceava, Botosani counties, to evacuating goods, consolidating dams and unblocking roads.

Defence minister Gabriel Oprea ordered that the number of troops be increased for the interventions in Sendreni area, Galati municipality, in accordance with the steps agreed on at the reunion of the National Committee for Emergencies in Galati, on July 4.

Since the beginning of the interventions in the flooded areas, over 2,500 troops and 225 vehicles worked to bring relief to the population and to consolidate dams.
