The Chief of General Staff Admiral Gheorghe Marin, had a meeting with the Head of the EU Military Committee, General Hakan SYREN, on Thursday, July 8, during the latter`s official visit in Romania.

The two officials discussed of Romania`s participation in NATO and EU-led operations, the operations of the coalition, ISAF, the EU command and force structure.

Admiral Marin explained the stage in Romanian military transformation and the national goals on developing major capabilities for EU.

Today, General Hakan SYREN has a meeting with the State Secretary for defence policy and planning, Mr. Viorel Oancea.
