PRESS INFORMATION

At about 17.00 hrs. on Sunday, July 18, a CH-53 Israeli helicopter participating in the joint Romanian-Israeli exercise BLUE SKY 2010, had to land urgently in the area of the town of Priboiu, Dambovita County.

During the flight to Boboc airdrome, the helicopter crew noticed a board malfunction and landed urgently according to procedures. As soon as the malfunction was solved the Israeli helicopter took off to Boboc, where it landed safely at about 20.30 hrs.

The Boboc airdrome hosts the joint air exercise BLUE SKY 2010, from 18 to 29 July. The exercise aims at training aircraft crews for low altitude flights, search and rescue and MEDEVAC missions. There will be no firing nor will live ammunition be used.
