The Minister of National Defence, Mr. Gabriel Oprea will make a planned visit to the 2nd 'Rovine' Infantry Brigade in Craiova, on Saturday, October 16. There he will meet with commanders of units belonging to the Land and Air Force Staff, the Joint Logistics Command and the Communication and Information Command in Arges, Brasov, Braila, Dolj, Dambovita, Giurgiu, Olt, Prahova and Valcea counties, with the personnel of the Infantry Battalion.

Minister Oprea and the personnel present at the meeting will discuss the state of the military, this year’s legal and institutional projects meant to solve social problems of active duty and reserve military personnel as well as aspects related to organizing ceremonies for the celebration of the Day of the Armed Forces on October 25.

During the working visit, the defence minister will be accompanied by Major General Valeriu Nicut, deputy chief of staff for training and operations, Major General Dan Ghica-Radu, chief of Land Forces Staff, Major General Virgil Ristea, deputy chief of Air Force Staff.

The meeting with military personnel of garrisons in the south of the country is one of the series of activities planned by the defence ministry leadership with a view to analyzing the extent to which training objectives had been met, to identifying practical solutions to the problems military and civil personnel are confronted with.
