Corporal Angel-Paul Ilovan, the 812th 'Soimii Carpatilor' Maneuver Battalion, was wounded by the blast of an improvised explosive device while on a patrol mission in Zabul Province, Afghanistan. The incident occurred at about 15.30 hrs., on Tuesday, November 23.

The explosion caused wounds in the soldier’s face, upper body and hands. After first aid maneuvers, he was transported by helicopter to the field hospital in Kandahar, for medical care and further investigations.

He is in stable condition at present.

The defence minister, the military leadership are permanently updated on the medical condition of the soldier.
