Answering the request of the UN Representation in Romania, the Ministry of National Defence will organize on Friday, April 8, an official ceremony at the repatriation of Filaret Motco, UN international functionary who lost his life during the assault against the UN regional office in Mazar-I-Sharif, Afghanistan. At the end of the ceremony Ministry of National Defence will also provide a military aircraft for the coffin`s transfer from Bucharest to Suceava.

The Defence Minister Gabriel Oprea will be the Governmen`s representative in the military and religious ceremony that will take place on Friday, April 8, at the 90th Air Transport Flotilla, Otopeni.

Between 1987 and 1990 Filaret Motco attended the Military School for Active Officers 'Nicolae Balcescu', in Sibiu, with a specialization in intendancy and was aggrandized Lieutenant in 1990, since he worked within the 443rd Supply and Transport Battalion until September 1991 when he became reservist, by request.
