Major General Stefan Danila, chief of General Staff welcomed General Stephane Abrial, Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (ACT), who is visiting our country officially.

The officials approached topics related to the cooperation between Allied Command Transformation and Romanian Armed Forces in terms of transformation and defence planning at NATO level, as well as the development and ways to further NATO`s cooperation with international strategic partners.

They discussed the dynamics of the Romanian Armed Forces transformation, with emphasis on Romania`s capability to participate in identifying and implementing efficient solutions devised to generate capabilities within NATO, in close cooperation with similar efforts made at EU level.

General Abrial also met with Viorel Oancea, State Secretary for Defence Policy and Planning to discuss NATO`s ongoing efforts in transforming forces and capabilities, with emphasis on ACT`s role in multinational cooperation.
