PRESS INFORMATION

As of July 31st, at the initiative of the Minister of National Defence, Gabriel Oprea, the 30th "Mihai Viteazul" Guard Regiment and the Romanian Armed Forces Band would perform in Tricolorului Square, in front of the Palace of the National Military Club, a ceremonial and a concert of military songs, from 10.00 to 12.00 a.m., on Sundays.

The military ceremonial would consist in changing the guards to the National Flag and hoisting the national Flag. The Romanian Armed Forces Band would play the national Anthem and would then perform patriotic songs and traditional marching songs, that have been accompanying Romanian troops in the battle fields over the last century.

This initiative of the military leadership is meant to revive Romanian military traditions and values and to elevate the cultural and touristic life in the capital city with the help an original performance offered to Romanian and foreign tourists visiting Bucharest.

The citizens of Bucharest and tourists present at the first performance of the series, on Sunday, July 31st, witnissed the beginning of a beautiful tradition that would take place regularly from now on.
