The Minister of National Defence Gabriel Oprea ordered that military units provide food, drinking water and warm tea to people whose cars were blocked by snow on routes A1 and A2. The military units providing assistance belong to Land Forces Staff and Joint Logistic Command and will operate from both ends of the said routes.

By order of the Minister of National Defence Gabriel Oprea, all available vehicles and engineering equipment as well as troops in military units in the counties affected by the massive snowing and snow storms be ready to urgently intervene in support of the people if requested by central and local authorities.

As of Wednesday night, troops have worked with equipment and vehicles in several counties.

The defence ministry keeps the situation in the country under observation, through its specialized structure in the General Staff so that they should be able to intervene in support of the population affected by the extreme weather conditions.
