The Minister of National Defence Gabriel Oprea declared on Saturday, February 11, during a meeting with local authorities of Vrancea and Buzau Counties, that the military are ready to intervene with Land, Air and Navy forces if requested by central and local authorities in areas affected by massive snow falls and snow storms, to assist people in danger, to distribute food and basic goods, to clear roads of snow.

Two C-27 J SPARTAN aircraft of the Air Force will transport 10 tons of products Saturday evening, February 11, from Bucuresti to Bacau. From Bacau the aid will be taken over by the troops of the 2nd Infantry Division and transported by truck to isolated localities in Vrancea County, as requested by the local authorities.

The Coordination Center of the air bridge established at the 90th Airlift Flotilla took this measure because the use of helicopters, as intended initially, could not be put in effect because of the weather conditions.
Starting Saturday night, transports ensured by the Joint Logistic Command and the 1st Infantry Division will be made, to take food by trucks to isolated localities in Buzau, Ialomita and Teleorman Counties.
