The Minister of National Defence Gabriel Oprea approved that on Sunday, February 19, several persons be transported with a C-27J Spartan aircraft, from Targu Mures and Baia Mare to Bucharest.

The seven patients, who suffered severe burn injuries during explosions that occurred in Abrud and Sighetu-Marmatiei would be medically assisted by a SMURD team during the flight. The mission takes place following the request of dr. Raed Arafat, undersecretary in the Ministry of Healthcare.

Commander of the C-27J Spartan crew, from the 90th Airlift Flotilla, is Captain Commander Ion Staiculescu. The aircraft took off from Otopeni at 07.50 heading for Targu-Mures, where it took a patinet and then, further on to Baia Mare to take six patients needing medical care in the capital city.
