The Minister of National Defence Gabriel Oprea approved on Sunday, February 19 a second humanitarian transport with a C-27J Spartan aircraft, from Baia Mare to Bucharest, in an attempt to save the lives of several people.

The patients, who suffered severe burn injuries during the second explosion that occurred in Sighetu-Marmatiei would be medically assisted by a SMURD team during the flight.
The mission takes place following the request of dr. Raed Arafat, undersecretary in the Ministry of Healthcare.

Commander of the C-27J Spartan crew, from the 90th Airlift Flotilla, is Lieutenant Commander Emil Tecuceanu. The aircraft took off from Otopeni at 12.45 heading for Baia Mare.
