The Minister of National Defence Gabriel Oprea approved that an IAR-330 PUMA helicopter make a transport over the Danube, at the request of the Prefect`s Office of Calarasi County, on Wednesday, February 29.

The helicopter, with a crew under the command of Lieutenant Commander Marius Mitric, took off from Tuzla, at 12.45, heading for Calarasi. There it will take oil and food and carry them to a tank barge drifting at km 370 on the Danube.

In order to be able to intervene in possible cases of medical care or evacuation of people and material transport on the Danube, defence minister Gabriel Oprea ordered that the General Staff prepare three military helicopters at the 90th Airlift Flotilla Otopeni, 86th Air Flotilla of Fetesti and the Helicopter Group of the Navy, in Tuzla.
