The Minister of National Defence Gabriel Oprea approved that sea rescue tug 'Grozavul', begin a new mission on the Danube consisting in breaking ice between Sulina and Galati, at the request of the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure.

The ship, that has a crew of 40 sailors, a 2,7 ton displacement, left Constanta Port at 11.00, on Friday, February 2, heading for Sulina. The ship`s commander will coordinate with Galati Harbor Master`s Office during its task to clear the channel of ice.

During its first mission of this kind conducted from February 6 to 18, sea rescur tug 'Grozavul' made 16 travels between Tulcea and Sulina, transporting over 260 people and 130 tons of food and materials to isolated localities in the Danube Delta.
