The Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Stefan Danila, participates in the meetings of the European Union Military Committee and the NATO Military Committee at Chiefs of Defence level organized in Brussels, on 24-26 April, 2012.

The agenda of the European Union Military Committee (EUMC) includes discussions on: 'Pooling and Sharing' and on Single European Sky-SESAR, EUMC strategic priorities and EU-led operations: EUFOR ALTHEA, EU NAVFOR Atalanta, EUTM Somalia which fights piracy off the Horn of Africa.

On 25-26 April, participants in NATO Military Committee in Chiefs of Staff Session (MCCS) will focus on the NATO Strategic Plan for Afghanistan (operation ISAF), the evolution of NATO and NATO-led operations, future ways of cooperating with partners, operational aspects.

During the bilateral meetings with NATO/EU officials, Lieutenant General Stefan Danila will talk of the transformation of the Romanian Armed Forces, priorities of military reforms, Romanian participation in theaters of operations, aspects concerning the deployment of the US ballistic missile defence in Romania, defence procurement programs and bilateral cooperation.
