The Minister of National Defence Gabriel Oprea approved on Monday, 30 April, a life saving mission for two persons, who had to be transported from Iasi to Bucharest, with a C-27J Spartan aircraft.
The patients, who suffered serious burns because of the explosion that took place in a factory from Iasi, would be medically assisted by a SMURD team during the flight. The mission takes place following the request of dr. Raed Arafat, undersecretary in the Ministry of Healthcare.
Commander of the C-27J Spartan crew, from the 90th Airlift Flotilla, is Captain Commander Ion Staiculescu. The aircraft took off from Otopeni heading for Iasi, at 17.15.
