A C-27J Spartan aircraft of the Air Force carried out a humanitarian mission from Oradea to Bucharest, to save the lives of two persons, on Friday, 11 May.
The patients, a man and a woman, suffered severe burns after an explosion produced in the town of Zalau. They were assisted by a SMURD medical team during the flight.

The mission was approved by the Minister of National Defence, Corneliu Dobritoiu, in response to the request of the Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Healthcare, Dr. Raed Arafat.

Commander of the aircraft crew, from the 90th Airlift Flotilla, was Captain Commander Emil Tecuceanu. After a three-hour flight, the aircraft landed int Otopeni at 02:30 a.m., the patients being transferred to a hospital in the capital city.
