The Center for Defence and Strategic Security Studies of the 'Carol I' National Defence University organizes the international seminar 'National Interests and Community Interests in the European Union' on Thursday, 17 May, from 09.00.

The 22nd edition of the seminar aims at highlighting the need that EU member states join efforts to promote both their national and European interests.

Lieutenant General, Professor Teodor Frunzeti, Ph.D., commandant and rector of the university will open the working session that will take place in the Senate Hall.

Representatives of internal and international bodies from Turkey, Ukraine and Republic of Moldova, with responsibilities in the field, will deliver presentations on different topics, such as foreign policy, defence, public order, national security, European funds, scientific research, higher military and civilian education.

The experts from the three countries, who participate in the event and have close cooperation relations with the European Union, represent, for the Romanian specialists, both the opportunity to share the Romanian experience in joining EU and to know the points of view, aspirations and expectations of the specialists from abroad.

Journalists interested in the event are expected on Thursday, 17 May, from 08.45 to 09.00, at the front entrance of the National Defence University (at the Monument of Nation`s Heroes).
