The State Secretary for Parliament Liaison, Public Information and Personnel Welfare, Dan Tataru participated in the meeting dedicated to the Day of the Reservist, organized by the local branch of the National Association of Reserve and Retired Military Personnel in Bacau, on 31 May.

Addressing the participants, representatives of the 2,000 reserve and retired military personnel and the almost 5,000 war veterans, invalids and widows of Bacau County, the state secretary from the Ministry of National Defence assured them that, as chief of the departement responsible for such matters, he is aware of their problems, from military pensions to medical care or daily life.

'Surely, not all problems could be solved at once. But I assure you that I would do everything in my power to help this part of our society with the leverage I can get and to generate a trend of opinion, within the public and the political factors, in support of the ideea that the hardships of military life are worth a proportional compensation', Dan Tataru said, mentioning that he always had respect for the military uniform.

'During my activity in the Ministry of National Defence I met special people, who have done their duty to the country in an unconditional manner, that made me appreciate in a fair manner the reason why reserve and retired military personnel are worth the respect of the state and society' state secretary Tataru added at the end.

The Day of the Reservist was first celebrated on 31 May 2010 being established as such through Hotararea de Guvern No. 467 of 12 May, the same year.
