'Dimitrie Cantemir' Military Highschool, follower of the traditions of 'Nicolae Filipescu' Military Highschool, celebrates its 100th anniversary.

On Monday, 4 June, the Combat Colors of the school will be decorated with peacetime Medal 'Virtutea Militara', Knight rank. The event is organized at the school location in Breaza, Prahova County, where the anniversary plates will be unveiled and the Educational Excellence Hall will be inaugurated.

The attendants will have the opportunity to participate in a show dedicated to the anniversary of the school.

Invited to the event were the Minister of National Defence, Mr. Corneliu Dobritoiu, other representatives of the military leadership, of the central and local administration as well as students and their relatives.

The military highschool of Manastirea Dealu, choice education institution of the Romanian Armed Forces, was established on 4 June, 1912. In September1940, it was relocated to Predeal, where it continued its activity until 1948. On 25 November 1949, a military highschool was established in Roman, having Dimitrie Cantemir as spiritual patron. After several alterations, the military education establishment was relocated to Breaza, in 1957. On 1 December 1999, the name of the school was changed to 'Dimitrie Cantemir' Military Highschool.
