The crew of 'Regele Ferdinand' frigate saved four people, sailing in a boat at the Black Sea, on Tuesday, 28 June, around 15.00 hrs.
The rescue operation was made at the request of the Maritime Coordination Center of the Romanian Naval Authority and took place at 13 NM off Gura Portitei, as the crew in 'Rechinul' boat could not continue its trip from Sulina to Eforie.
For the time being, the four people are safe onboard the frigate, while the boat is towed. The frigate will get off port Constanta, at about 6 p. m..
The military ship will continue its training activities at sea related to its participation in 'Atalanta' operation.
The Minister of National Defence, Corneliu Dobritoiu, mentioned the crew of frigate 'Regele Ferdinand' in dispatches for the succesful accomplishment of the assistance and rescue mission.
