The State Secretary for Parliament Liaison, Public Information and Personnel Welfare, Dan Tataru, met with General (Retired) Marin Dragnea, president of the National Association of Romanian War Veterans (ANVR) and Major General (Retired) Victor Goanta, president of the Association of War Invalides and vicepresident of ANVR, at the defence ministry, on 2 July.
The discussions focused on the necessary steps to be taken by the military institution for the improvement of the situation of war veterans, invalids and widows, as well for the observance of the provisions of Law No. 44/1994, on medical care and the exemption from certain taxes and dues.
State Secretary Dan Tataru expressed his openness and availability for such a dialogue and pledged himself to support, within the limits of his competencies, the rights of war veterans, invalids and widows, as a token of the gratitude the society has for them.
