All the four military men onboard the helicopter that crashed near Buzau, on Thursday, 5 July, died.

The military helicopter, IAR 316B, of the Air Force Application School of Boboc lost the radio contact with the base around 12.00 and crashed shortly after that, in the area of Posta Calnau locality, 5 km away from the base.

At the order of the chief of General Staff and according to procedures, all IAR 316 B aircraft are grounded until the cause of the accident is identified. Immediate steps were taken to secure the impact area.

The defence minister expresses his deep regret at the tragic event, being by the side of the families of the four victims.

A committee of the Air Force Staff investigates the causes of the accident and the results of the Military Prosecutor's Office inquest will be published at the end of the investigation.
