Captain-Commander Mitică Docuz, WO Cătălin Topoliceanu, WO Viorel Cojocaru and student Ștefan Coropețchi were fatally injured during the aviation accident that occurred today, 5 July, near Buzău.
Captain-Commander Mitică Docuz, aged 45, had over 1700 flight hours on his records, was married and had two children. WO Viorel Cojocaru, aged 44, had 650 flight hours on his records, was married and father to one child. WO Cătălin Topoliceanu, aged 38, had over 1100 flight hours on his records, was married and had one child. Ștefan Coropețchi was a 19 years old freshman and was not married.
The military helicopter, IAR 316B, of the Air Force Application School of Boboc lost the radio contact with the base around 12.00 and crashed shortly after that, in the area of Poșta Câlnău locality, 5 km away from the base.
The minister of national defence expresses his deep regret at the tragic event, being by the side of the families of the four victims.
